Types of Switzerland visas (Visa swiss)

Switzerland offers Schengen visas for short-term tourism, allowing travelers to visit Switzerland and other Schengen countries for up to 90 days within a 180-day period, starting from the date of entry into the Schengen area. Swiss visas can be categorized based on travel purposes, including tourism, visiting friends, family reunion with a registered spouse, business meetings, and family members of EU and EEA nationals. The Swiss Embassy delegates VFS Global to manage visa application documentation. Applications can be scheduled online via the VFS Global website.

Required documents for a Swiss visa include :

1. The original Swiss visa application form
which can be filled out and printed from the VFS website. The online form's data is stored for 14 days, allowing for edits before printing and signing. For minors, a guardian must sign.
2. A valid passport
with a minimum six-month validity from the return date, with at least two blank pages. If you have an old passport, bring it along with two sets of photocopies showing personal information.
3. Two Swiss visa photos
color photos with a white background, measuring 3.5 cm x 4 cm, not older than six months. The photo must clearly show the forehead, ears, and eyebrows without contact lenses.
4. Employment proof
an English employment confirmation letter or business registration for business owners.
5. Financial evidence
bank statements for the past three months, showing sufficient funds for daily expenses of 4,000 THB or 100 CHF per day. If financially supported by a sponsor, provide their financial documents and a Sponsorship Letter.
6. Travel and accommodation booking proofs
flight tickets, hotel reservations for the entire stay in Switzerland, and public transportation details.
7. Travel health and accident insurance
covering at least 30,000 Euros or 1.5 million THB, valid for the entire Schengen area.
8. A detailed travel itinerary in English
outlining daily plans and accommodations.
9. Additional personal documents
like house registration, birth certificate, marriage certificate, or name change certificate, if applicable.

For business visas, an invitation letter from a Swiss company or organization is required, detailing the company's activities, invitee's personal and passport details, trip dates, financial responsibility, and assurances of return travel.

Family visit visas require :
  • 1. A signed invitation letter : outlining the relationship, duration, and financial responsibility for the stay.
  • 2. The Swiss resident's employment proof : and income details.
  • 3. A copy of their passport.
Visa Application Process :

Once documents are prepared, schedule an online appointment with VFS Global. On the appointment day, bring the confirmation email, passport, visa application form, and all documents. The documents should be unbound, just clipped together. After document verification, biometrics will be taken, followed by fee payment.

Visa fees are in Euros but paid in THB. The fees may vary due to currency fluctuations.
